'Speak Out Challenge' Victory for St Ignatius

13 February 2025

We were honoured to host the Jack Petchy ‘Speak Out Challenge’ regional finals here on Monday. The evening showcased the talents of 15 young speakers from schools all over Enfield whose journeys had started when they participated in workshops delivered by The Speakers Trust in their own schools.

It was no small feat delivering their speeches to a panel of 7 discerning judges as well as a large audience and we applaud of all of the participants for presenting themselves so well.

We are very proud of our Year 10 students who took part; Adam Ravatt winning the competition and Demir Seyranoglu coming third. Adam’s performance will now go through to the semi final selection day where the judges decide who goes through to the grand final in July where they perform to an audience of over 1000 people!

What a rollercoaster of a final in the Catholic Schools Cup last night! We went behind in the first minute, then 2–0, but fought back and with a last‑minute penalty, made it 3–3 to take the game into extra time. St Thomas More School won on penalties. Congratulations 🏆️

A huge thank you to Nico from Kennedys Law for delivering a fantastic talk today as part of our Ambition Programme. Our students gained valuable insight into healthcare law, the recruitment process, explored a real‑life case study and learned more about Kennedys Law.
