What we’re doing to improve accessibility 

We are continually reviewing our website and welcome feedback from stakeholders who have difficulty in accessing information so we can make improvements. 

Following the website test conducted on the 15th May 2023 and audit conducted by Cleverbox our host provider we have implemented the following changes:

  1. Updated the main navigation so you can tab to and through it (the main nav will automatically open as you're tabbing)
  2. Ensure the search can be tabbed into and out correctly
  3. Added focus style on all links (dashed border)

          1. Image/icon only links to have discernible text eg. header links
          2. Corrected order of heading tags. 
          3. Replaced all links that have an href of "#" or have JS function with(e.g. News filters on home and list view, scroll down button over home header)
          4. Ensured title tags and alt tags are present and correct
          5. Update High Visibility stylesheet with the latest improvements and fixes
          6. Homepage specific changes
            1. Add "aria-labelledby" tags on each " " (each home page strip such as news, events etc) to tag a heading to it
