Governing Body

The Governing Body has ultimate responsibility for the College and determines the general policy for it.  Governors play an important part in the strategic management of the College and are vital for the success of the school.  There are currently 21 governors at St Ignatius College (12 Foundation, 2 Parent, 1 Headteacher, 2 Staff, 1 Local Authority and 3 Co-Opted Governors); all governors have equal voting rights, including co-opted governors.

Their names and the offices they hold are listed below. All foundation governors are appointed by the Trustees (Society of Jesus). Staff governors are appointed by the staff body whereas parents are appointed by the parent body. Co-opted governors are appointed by the main Governing Body.
